When can I register?

Is your staff certified?
Our teachers all have teacher certification. Our principal has principal certification. Additionally, all members of the faculty are certified as catechists by the Archdiocese of Newark Office of Religious Education.

When does the school open, and is there a before and after care program?
School starts at 755am and dismisses at 310pm. Students may participate in the before and after care program.

Do you have extra-curricular activities?
We will have a wide range of activities for students ranging from the arts to athletics.

What does being an "academy" mean?
Academies follow guidelines that raise the bar in the education that they provide. Further details can be found here .

Is the school accredited?
Padre Pio Academy is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools.

How will the school meet my child's spiritual needs?
To nurture the spiritual dimension of our students, class Masses are held monthly. Students have a daily religion class, but more importantly faculty and students live out the Gospel values in their daily lives in their respect for each other and in their awareness of and concern for those less fortunate. Students participate throughout the year in service projects such as Thanksgiving baskets, Toys for Tots, and Operation Rice Bowl. The students' individual parishes remain an active part of their spiritual lives.

Is parental involvement encouraged?
Parents play a key role in their children's education. We welcome parental involvement through active communication with our staff, and by participation in the Home School Association, and attendance at various events.

What is the physical plant like?
The building that houses Padre Pio Academy has features such as a library, computer lab, full-sized gym, cafeteria where hot lunch is served, spacious classrooms, and air conditioning in all rooms.
